When renovating their classic midcentury home, this Morningside couple dreamed of an updated midcentury modern bathroom with black marble tiles, bohemian elements, a large stand-alone tub and walk-in shower. Black hexagonal and marbled tiles contrast against the bright white walls, making a statement. The space combines modern and midcentury elements seamlessly—such as a frameless glass walk-in shower, brass hardware, and an updated take on classic sconces.

A custom natural oak wood cabinetry and boho bath accessories bring warmth to the space and balance out the black and white. The cabinetry and its open storage adds the perfect amount of much needed storage to the small space. A long transom window above the tub lets in light, while still providing privacy. This bathroom offers the perfect balance of mid-century modern and contemporary elements.
