Dining Spaces That Will Make You Want to Dine In
We all love to dine-out. Whether it means taking the time to catch up with some old friends or finding the time to reconnect with the family, going out to your favorite restaurant is a special occasion and an excuse to dine somewhere other than your own dining room. But what if your dining room felt just as exciting as that trendy new restaurant down the street? What if your house became the new go-to for all of those dinner parties? Dining in can be even more exciting, convenient, and cost-efficient than eating out. You’ve just got to make your space stand out!
We’ve gathered some of our favorite dining rooms to inspire you to create the eating space of your dreams and turn your room into a restaurant-style getaway. (Personal chef not included, sorry!)
Mid-Century | Bold
This vintage mid-century inspired dining space is casual enough for everyday eating, but bold enough to catch everyone’s attention. Personalized with antique art and a contrasting modern chandelier, this space makes a surprising statement against such a dark, moody accent wall. The wishbone chairs, designed by Hans Wegner in the 1940’s, and the retro style light fixture make a nod to the past, but are integrated in a way that still seems fresh and updated in the present.
Transitional | Clean
If you’re looking to create a fresh, inviting dining room in your home, this neutral, transitional space may be of inspiration to you. The bright white walls, simple textured grey rug, and modern clean lines keep this space feeling light and airy while the warmth of the wood table and black woven dining chairs ground the room and pull everything together. The small touches of greenery really add life to the space and the funky chandelier adds an unexpected touch of modernism to keep the space exciting.
Vintage | Welcoming
This super casual and personalized dining space is simple enough for everyday dining, but bold enough to stand out among the rest. At first glance, the striking blue wall paired with the large vintage art piece catch your eye and invite you to enter the room. Other vintage touches such as the 1950 ’s tulip dining table, wood cabinet, and glass pendant light pair well with the laid-back striped rug and mix-matching chairs for a fun twist on a classic idea.
Eclectic | Pattered
If you’re hoping to go outside of the box with your dining space, this funky room probably speaks to you. The wild wallpaper and patterned rug paired with a woven sisal underneath display a number of different patterns and natural textures. The walnut dining chairs and solid tulip table balance the craziness of the walls while still feeling youthful and surprising. Accessorized with some modern line drawings, peach curtain panels, and an acrylic and brass console table, this modern eclectic space is perfect for all of your dinnertime fun.
Bright | Refined
This dining space is light, bright, and perfect if you’re limited on space. A small banquette, bistro table, and matching chairs is all you need to make your spot pop! The brass and beaded chandelier is elegant and dresses up the small space to feel more luxurious and unique. Add a few accessories, indoor plants, and personalized art to make your new dining space feel special to you.
